Computational+Ship+Analysis%2D+CSA+

Calculations are carried out to document compliance with the voluntary class notations CSA-FLS and CSA-2. These Class Notations require direct assessment of loads and response, including full stochastic fatigue analysis (CSA-FLS and CSA-2) and non-linear load calculations for strength assessment (CSA-2).

Purpose

The purpose of the calculations is verify the increased fatigue and ultimate strength according to the requirements of CSA-FLS and CSA-2, and is particularly relevant for vessels

  • with novel design

  • with increased size

  • operating in harsh environment

  • with operational challenges, or

  • with strict off-hire requirements.

Benefits

DNV has high competence and wide experience with the Class Notations CSA-FLS and CSA-2, as well as the documentation requirements from Class. We provide high-level expertise on hydrodynamic analysis, fatigue calculations and strength assessment, having both specialised and multidisciplinary competent personnel. We use well-proven numerical software, including integrated solutions for interaction between the hydrodynamic tools and the structural analysis.

Features
