DNV, in 2016, introduced the Open Class 3D Exchange standard (OCX) to bridge this gap, ensuring interoperability across various CAD applications. This innovative step not only facilitates the transition to 3D documentation but also offers benefits like reduced workload, cost savings, improved quality, and design efficiency. DNV now encourages customers to adopt this 3D OCX model-based approach for a smoother, efficient design and approval process.
