On the coast of Brazil, many offshore jacket platforms have been operating beyond their intended design life. Structural modifications enable these life extensions by accounting for factors that impact jacket integrity, including time degradation, accidental impact, changes in environmental conditions and topside modifications.
In this context, pushover and probabilistic fatigue analyses provide vital information to support inspection planning for the extended life of these structures. Ultimately, the ability to predict the most optimal time plans for inspections can result in significant cost savings while keeping the reliability of the structure at a high level.
